Sony's previous flagship still sounds balanced and controlled, and What Hi-Fi found its calls clear even in wind. It lasts longer with noise canceling on than the Sennheiser and the buds are smaller. The fit is less secure than some rivals, so try every tip size.
The WF-C710N costs well under half the Sennheiser and lasts longer per charge. Tom's Guide found it comfortable for a full working day with noise canceling that punches above its price. What Hi-Fi liked the musical tuning, but voices and higher sounds slip through.
The Air Pro 4 brings hi-res Bluetooth to Android phones through both aptX Adaptive and LDAC, for under a third of the price. Android Central enjoyed its lively sound and comfort. PC Gamer found it fine against steady noise but weaker on sudden sounds, and the mic thin.
Final recommendation: The Sony WF-1000XM5 is the closest swap, with flagship sound and longer battery for less. The WF-C710N is the value pick. Android users who want hi-res codecs on a budget should take the EarFun Air Pro 4. Buy the Momentum True Wireless 5 for the richest sound and batteries you can replace years from now.

Yes. With a standard screwdriver you can open both the buds and the case and swap the batteries. There's also a mode that caps charging at about 80% to slow battery wear.
Up to 12 hours per charge with noise canceling off and 40 with the case. With it on, What Hi-Fi expects about 6 hours, which is shorter than Sony's buds.
Not quite. Reviewers found it strong and natural-sounding, but Bose's QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds still create a more complete silence. If you dislike that pressure feeling, the Sennheiser's approach may suit you better.
